ENTREPRENEURSHIP

A 10-week rigorous curriculum designed to prepare participants for the arduous task of becoming entrepreneurially minded would be delivered. Participants are expected to attain 100% attendance in class and write an examination before proceeding to apply for Kaduna Startup Entrepreneurship Program (KADSTEP) loan.

STARTUP FUNDING

Those who attain a grade of 2.75 GPA and above would be allowed upload their business plan and complete the Bank of Industry (BOI) Application form. To proceed to the loan application stage of the program. Depending on the business financial requirements, applicants can apply for loans of 1 million to 10 million Naira under this scheme.

CERTIFICATION

A high-level committee at Kaduna Business School would review all applications on a monthly basis. Successful applicants would be admitted into the KADSTEP entrepreneurship program. A total 5000 youths in Kaduna state would benefit from this program. Candidates who successfully complete this program would be issued certificates.

MENTORING

All Businesses in the KADSTEP program would be located in Kaduna State. Applicants who qualify and obtain the start-up loan would be allocated to a mentor to guide him/her through the start-up stage of his/her proposed venture giving them a higher chance of success.

KADSTEP

The Kaduna start-up and entrepreneurship programme is a massive job creation campaigned initiated by a tripartite relationship, between the Kaduna state government, the Bank of Industry and Kaduna Business School.  The goal is to engage about 5,000 eligible young men and women resident in the state to pursue productive enterprise development initiatives.

Programme Structure

The programme is structured as a 10 + 2-week arrangement where qualified candidates go through a world-class programme equivalent to an entrepreneurship ‘diploma plus access to finance.  Initially, there is a 10-week intensive training, followed by grand examination which leads to a 2 – week access to finance training and accessing the loan.  The candidates are initially issued with an interim statement of result and subsequently will be issued with an Entrepreneurship Diploma after they run the business successfully for 18 months.
